Cervical Screening, Pap Smears and HPV testing to keep you informed of your health

Cervical Screening & Pap Smears to keep you informed of your health

Routine Pap smear tests for early detection of cervical changes in a respectful and private setting and quick, private, and confidential HPV testing to support your cervical health and wellbeing. Take control of your health with confidence.

HPV (human papillomavirus virus) is a very common infection. Most people will have it at some point in their lives. In many cases it clears on its own, but some types of HPV can cause changes that may lead to cervical cancer if not detected and treated early. Through a Pap smear (also called a Pap test), a simple, quick screening that helps detect early changes in the cervix, as well as presence of HPV, catching these changes early can help prevent cervical cancer and identify any need for early treatments.

Cervical Cancer Screening

What are our cervical screening services?

A Pap smear is a safe and routine test where a healthcare provider gently collects cells from your cervix. These cells are then examined for any changes that might lead to cervical cancer. It’s one of the most effective ways to protect your reproductive health. Prevention is better than cure, pap smears can detect changes long before they become cancer. Women and people with a cervix aged 21–65 years are encouraged to have cervical testing— Pap smears and/or HPV testing.

How often should you have a Pap smear or cervical screening?

Common questions about Cervical Screening & Pap tests

Our clinics are inclusive and open to all — regardless of age, gender identity, or background. We believe everyone deserves high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Who should get a Pap smear?

Women and people with a cervix aged 21–65 years are encouraged to have cervical testing— Pap smears and/or HPV testing. Your provider will recommend how often you need the test, depending on your age, health history, and results.

Is Cervical Screening painful?

Screening is usually not painful, though it may feel a little uncomfortable for a few moments. Our trained healthcare staff will make sure you are comfortable throughout.

What happens if my test results need further exploration?

A positive result does not mean you have cancer. It simply means you have a type of HPV that needs further testing and monitoring. Your healthcare provider will explain next steps, which may include screening or treatment if needed.

Why is it important?

Prevention is better than cure: Pap smears can detect changes long before they become cancer.

These are pills that are taken either before sex or after sex to avoid unintended pregnancy. The pills are supposed to be taken within 72 hours after sex.
