{"id":2271,"date":"2021-08-04T04:32:42","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T01:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rhu.or.ug\/?p=2271"},"modified":"2026-02-12T13:26:05","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:26:05","slug":"uganda-launches-sexual-and-reproductive-health-rights-league","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/dev.qrolic.com\/rhu-block-theme\/news\/uganda-launches-sexual-and-reproductive-health-rights-league\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda Launches Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights League"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uganda has launched a Civil Society Organizations (CSO\u2019s) league to enhance advocacy for sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The league was launched by Dr. Jonathan Musinguzi, Director General National Population Secretariat, with its secretariat at Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Charles Owekmeno, Chairperson CSO league in Uganda, who is also a National Coordinator for SRHR Alliance, says the CSO\u2019s league currently comprises of 18 associations hinged on the promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-medium wp-image-2272\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.qrolic.com\/rhu-block-theme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/CSO-league-on-SRHR-Uganda-Chapter-300x171.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2272\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Banner for SRHR CSO&#8217; League members in Uganda<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jackson Chekweko, RHU Executive Director and Secretary to the CSO\u2019s league is optimistic that with support from William and Flora Hewlet Foundation \u2018Voices Project\u2019, and other partners, the CSO\u2019s Chapter will promote and support better sexual and reproductive health and rights at the national, regional and international level.
